Media review - The Red Letters Project Produced by . Symbionic Entertainment

This is the first media review that I have done and I must say boy am I impressed! Everything about the red letters Project impressed me!
First I’d like to start with the title. I had a friend come up to me and ask me why it was called the red letters project. I began to explain the words of Jesus in the Bible are a lot of the time written in red. Since this was a cd compilation of the book of Matthew, I found this Title very Appropriate and intriguing. It is something that makes you want to pick it up and find out what it is about.
The next thing I’d like to talk about is the packaging. This packaging is very pleasing to the eye. The front sleeve screams look at me, I am different. And the fact that it has a sleeve to protect what is inside is fabulous. Once you look inside, I loved that the 3 cds are each done in a different color so that they are easily distinguishable. I did find that the included book of Matthew looks more like a brochure, but once you look inside at the colors, graphics, and quality of the paper it is written on, it is great. There is a sleeve that the book slides right into so you will be sure not to lose it.
Lastly but certainly not least, the music. Wow. I was so surprised and impressed with this music. I have never heard the bible sound like this before. I have listened to other Christian music before but it sounded much different. This music is not your typical church hymns.
This music is very modern, hip, and cool even. In my opinion this music is best suited for preteens, teenagers, and people in their 20’s, and 30’s. This music sounds very rock alternative in genre. With that being said I think that this music could be enjoyed by anyone in any age group.
I found that they did an amazing job on this project. The singers are fantastic. I also loved the way they mixed the songs on the cds. You have a few up beat songs and then a ballad. It really gave the cds a nice pace.
Overall I believe that The Red Letters Project is a must have for everyone who loves god, but especially for teens/preteens as it will help them (in a fun and “cool” way) as they grow closer to god. This would make a great gift.* This review copy was provided courtesy of Tyndale House Publishers
